Siemon's Valerie Maguire Elected Vice Chair of TIA TR-42 Telecommunications Cabling Systems Engineering Committee
Watertown, CT — Valerie Maguire, Global Sales Engineer for Siemon, has been elected as Vice-Chair of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42 Telecommunications Cabling Systems Engineering Committee. TIA TR-42 and its thirteen subcommittees develop standards for copper and optical fiber cabling infrastructure used in commercial, residential, and industrial buildings, as well data centers. The Engineering Committee is responsible for the development of the ANSI/TIA-568-C family of standards, in addition to standards addressing copper and optical fiber cabling component (e.g. cables, connectors, and cable assemblies) performance, installation and field testing methods, and administration requirements.
Maguire has been serving in leadership positions of the TIA TR-42.7 Copper Cabling Systems Subcommittee since 2001 and is document editor for multiple developing TIA Standards. Maguire has actively participated in TIA standards formulation since 1995.
